Another gorgeous place to visit is the Breakheart Reservation. Spreading across 650 acres between Wakefield and neighboring Saugus, the hardwood forests and freshwater lakes of this outstanding recreation area has phenomenal hiking. Great views of New England and Boston lie atop its rocky hills.
 
In addition to its spectacular outdoors, the community keeps things exciting by updating its calendar of events with seasonal festivals and social gatherings. A particular favorite among the community is the Fourth of July Parade and Fireworks, filling the neighborhood with patriotic cheer. Festival by the Lake also takes place each year by Lake Quannapowitt, bringing lots of great food, artisan crafts, live music, and children's activities.
